We are deeply saddened to share the news of the sudden and tragic passing of Martyn Latchman, aged 38, who died in Turkey last week.
Martyn had travelled to Dr Cinik Clinic in Istanbul for a planned hair transplant procedure. Before the surgery began, during the pre-operative stage, he became suddenly unwell. Despite urgent intervention from the clinic’s medical team and transfer to a nearby hospital, he sadly passed away later that same day.
The exact cause of his sudden illness remains unconfirmed. Turkish authorities have confirmed that a full investigation, including a post-mortem examination, is now underway. Martyn’s body has since been repatriated to the UK, allowing his loved ones to lay him to rest.
Although we were not involved in arranging or carrying out Martyn’s treatment, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. May he be remembered for his kindness, humour, and the light he brought to others. 🕊️
🩺 Patient Safety Reminder
Even procedures considered low-risk can have unexpected complications. If you are considering surgery abroad, we strongly recommend:
✅ Choosing a licensed and accredited clinic with verified credentials
✅ Ensuring full pre-operative assessments are carried out before your procedure
✅ Understanding local hospital facilities and emergency access in the area
✅ Arranging comprehensive travel and medical insurance that covers potential complications
Patient safety should always come first. By taking the time to research thoroughly and plan carefully, you can help reduce risks when travelling abroad for medical or cosmetic treatment.
Our thoughts remain with Martyn’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
