Alopecia should never be taken lightly. It is a severe condition caused by an autoimmune disease, where the immune system mistakenly targets and damages hair follicles, resulting in hair loss. Hair follicles are the tiny structures within our skin responsible for producing hair. Although hair loss can occur anywhere on the body, alopecia areata predominantly impacts the scalp and face.
